Open Summer Job Positions
We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our team as field technicians based out of our Whitecourt office. These positions are for the 2025 summer term, a practicum work term and with the potential for permanent full time permanent employment pending a successful summer season. The following positions are available:
Creeks Technician: candidates will be familiar with watercourse inventory and sampling techniques. Project tasks will consist of extensive field work conducting stream inventories, aquatic habitat inventory, and roadway watercourse crossing inspections. Creek technicians will also be utilized for ecology and wetland projects as the need arises.
Restoration Technician: project duties include participation in seasonally active programs with extensive field work consisting of data collection, and site prescriptions. Field work is conducted to support operational creek crossing restoration activities and linear restoration of caribou habitat. Knowledge of lotic ecosystems, fish identification, and ecosite classification are an asset.
Survey and Geomatics Technician: this position is focused on variable sensor payload drone imagery, surveying, mapping and planning for environmental and ecological restoration projects. This data is used for the design of ecological restoration construction projects and to aid in the development of spatial solutions for our clients.

Position Requirements
Project work is remote, team based, safety driven with travel throughout the Province. Candidates need be adaptable and willing to accept the challenges and rewards of working long days outside in remote areas. Applicants will be given priority with the following qualifications:
- Current enrollment or recent completion of a Degree or Technical Diploma in Environmental, Earth Science, Forestry, Biology, Engineering, Geomatics or Surveying.
- A knowledge of Alberta’s aquatic, wetland and forest ecosystems.
- Valid class five driver’s license with a clean abstract and valid safety training in H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, defensive driving, WHMIS/GHS, ground disturbance and ATV operation.
- Prior field work experience.
These positions require strong written and verbal communication skills. Applicants must provide a valid class five driver’s license with a clean abstract. Shift work applies to all projects.
