Senior Site Environmental Specialist

Are you passionate about environmental stewardship and compliance? We’re looking for a Senior Environmental Specialist to join our team! In this role, you’ll ensure our facility meets all environmental regulations and standards. You’ll evaluate plant operations, advise management on compliance, and lead environmental improvements. Your responsibilities will include conducting inspections with regulatory agents, preparing and submitting reports, interpreting regulatory language, and negotiating with agencies.

What you’ll do:
Ensure compliance with all environmental requirements through inspections, testing, and evaluation of plant operations; develop and implement plans and procedures for multiple locations.
Analyze process and environmental data for compliance and trend evaluations; prepare reports for regulatory agencies, management, community groups, and other stakeholders.
Serve as “on-call” environmental coordinator, responding to issues including spill reporting, waste management, wastewater, stormwater, drinking water, radiation, air emissions, and agency inspections.
Coordinate all permit applications from identifying the need through application, agency negotiations, and receipt of the permit.
Supervise and coach contractors and direct reports, depending on work location.
Manage environmental aspects of projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and selecting contractors.
Provide work direction and timely, constructive feedback to ensure employees understand their roles, business goals, and performance standards.
Develop and coach employees to retain and grow organizational talent.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor's Degree required, with a major in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering or Environmental Science
5+ years of Industrial Manufacturing experience
1+ years of Environmental and Permitting Regulatory Matters experience
1+ years Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Applications experience
1+ years of Environmental Law experience
1+ years of Training and Development experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Professional Geologist Certificate
Drinking Water Testing Certificate
Waste Water Testing Certificate
Visible Emissions evaluator certification
40 hour radiation safety officer certification
