Description
Under direct supervision, responsible for coordinating comprehensive program for Institutional compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
Responsibilities
- Performs and assists with comprehensive laboratory and facilities safety evaluations and fire safety inspections.
- Monitors, packages, transports, separates and processes hazardous materials for appropriate disposal.
- Maintains program compliance reporting systems identifying and developing both corrective action and appropriate training for areas found to be deficient.
- Assists in the development of standard operating procedures and other written guidelines.
- Assists with data analysis to identify workplace health and safety risk trends, recommends and monitors actions to mitigate risk and develop prevention strategies/programs.
- Documents corrective actions.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge in environmental health and safety or a related field.
- Ability to multitask, manage shifting priorities and follow through on projects.
- Ability to work in a construction/industrial environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with SharePoint.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Applied Science, Health or Environmental Science is required.
