Your new role
As our new Environmental Permitting Consultant you will contribute towards creating a sustainable future and work on our inspiring projects and innovative solutions that aim to set the standard among our peers. We will consider remote/hybrid working as an option with a willingness to travel for internal/external meetings. Ramboll operates a flexible working policy, and with this you will be part of an exciting team of experts, who respect each other and work towards a common goal.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Critically reviewing and interpreting EU and Italian environmental regulations
- Assisting in preparing major and minor permit applications (e.g. AIA, AUA, etc.)
- Assisting in preparing studies under Italia Environmental Impact Assessment legislation (screening di VIA, SIA, VINCA, etc.)
- Assisting clients in maintaining their operation in compliance with existing environmental permits (air emissions, waste management, wastewater control, etc.)
- Preparing emissions calculations for industrial sources
- Conducting compliance assessment against of Best Available Techniques for various industries (Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Waste Treatment, etc.)
- Conducting air quality reviews of emissions reduction or control
- Conducting reviews of industrial wastewater management according to Italian National and regional legislation
Your new team
You will be part of a growing team of Compliance and Permitting specialists consistent of like-minded individuals who are passionate about air quality, permitting, environmental legislation assisting Ramboll’s clients with their most challenging problems. The Compliance and Permitting Group consults with clients across various industries (Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Services, etc.) on a range of topics, including but not limited to environmental permitting under IPPC IED EU Legislation, National environmental impact assessments, emissions estimation, air dispersion modelling, wastewater permits and improvement projects, human health risk assessment, climate change, permitting, compliance, and indoor/outdoor air quality.
You will be part of the Environmental & Health department in Italy. You will work as part of a lively team, filled with people who are really excited about creating the sustainable options of the future. Our team is vibrant, innovative, international, and supportive. You will collaborate with your colleagues to play a critical role in defining and delivering on projects that involve multiple clients in countries across Europe.
About you

These include:
- Master of Science (Laurea quinquennale) or PhD in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemical or other relevant field (e.g. Natural Science, course work in Air Quality a plus)
- Demonstrated capabilities in understanding and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations
- Demonstrated understanding of and ability to communicate effectively with regulatory authorities, government officials, major customers and senior executives within the organization
- Strong analytical abilities as well as being competent and efficient in report writing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English
