Summary
The CSR/Sustainability Specialist will be responsible for
developing, implementing, and managing our Corporate Social Responsibility
strategies and initiatives. This role is pivotal in aligning our Social Responsibility
policies with Sabi’s mission and sustainability goals, focusing on areas like
sustainable sourcing, environmental impact, and social responsibility. The
ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental,
social, and governance (ESG) regulations, impact assessment while collaborating
with local communities, NGOs, and regulatory bodies to enhance our social and
environmental footprint.
What
you will be doing
- Lead the development and execution of CSR policies and practices
that align with our mission and goals and develop action plans to enhance
performance in areas like sustainable sourcing and distribution of commodities.
- Create plans and strategies to ensure compliance with
environmental, social, and governance (ESG) regulations within the agricultural
sector.
- Collaborate with local communities, NGOs, and regulatory bodies to
foster relationships that enhance our social and environmental footprint.
- Identify and assess environmental and social risks related to the agricultural
sector and make informed recommendations to reduce risks.
- Participate in global and regional sustainability programs, while
driving economic growth.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation, industry trends, and best
practices in CSR, particularly within the agricultural
- Assist in data collection and use data-driven insights to improve
CSR initiatives and report on outcomes
- Prepare detailed reports
on CSR progress, sustainability metrics, and impact assessments including
supply chain impact, resource efficiency, and community development for
stakeholders and senior management.
Requirements
Special Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree in Environmental Science, Social Sciences or related fields.
- 3-5 years of
experience in CSR, sustainability, or related roles, ideally within the
technology-driven or agriculture trading sector.
- Knowledge of
ESG principles, regulations, standards, and best practices related to
sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and ethical trade.
- Proficiency in sustainability reporting
frameworks
- Experience
managing stakeholder relations with governments, NGOs, and local communities.
- Excellent
communication, project management, and strategic thinking skills.
- Must be
flexible to travel within Nigeria, including remote locations.
