Job Summary
The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager will lead and manage the safety, health, and environmental programs for the Texas division, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role will support both operations and service teams to create and maintain a safe working environment, reduce risks, and improve overall safety performance. The EH&S Manager will also be responsible for implementing safety initiatives, training, and reporting processes. This role requires up to 50% travel throughout the Texas region and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
• Safety Leadership: Serve as the primary safety advocate, promoting a culture of safety throughout the Texas division’s operations and service teams.
• Program Management: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EH&S programs, including hazard identification, incident investigation, and emergency preparedness.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local environmental health and safety regulations.
• Training: Design and conduct EH&S training programs for employees at all levels, ensuring proper understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
• Audits & Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of job sites, service centers, and equipment. Identify areas of non-compliance and work with team leaders to rectify issues.
• Incident Reporting & Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace accidents and near misses, and ensure thorough documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Risk Mitigation: Assess and manage risks associated with operations and service activities, recommending best practices for safety and environmental stewardship.
• Metrics & Reporting: Track and report on key EH&S metrics, including incident rates, near misses, and safety training completion. Present findings and recommendations to leadership.
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the EH&S programs and safety culture within the division.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in EH&S, preferably in the construction, HVAC, or mechanical contracting industries.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations and standards.
• Proven ability to lead safety initiatives and drive a culture of safety across diverse teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to train and influence employees at all levels of the organization.
• Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), Etc.
• Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed, up to 50% of the time
