GEI Consultants, Inc., a leading engineering consulting company in the United States, is seeking a highly motivated intern to perform a broad range of duties to support our environmental investigation, remediation, and permitting practices in our Mount Laurel, New Jersey office.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Candidates will work with engineers, contractors, and clients assisting with data collection, management, and review for a wide range of environmental projects.
- Describe and classify soil samples.
- Collect soil and groundwater samples.
- Report daily progress in the field to task supervisor.
- Travel to project sites required. Must have reliable transportation.
- Office support, including preparation of technical memos, reports, construction specifications, and AutoCAD drawings.
Minimum Qualifications
- In pursuit of BS or MS in Civil Engineering/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology/Geoscience.
- Proven communication, writing, time management, and organization skills.
- Ability to work well with project teams.
- Ability and willingness to perform field work in inclement weather.
- Travel on various field assignments as needed.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD software is considered a plus.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER is a plus.
- Previous experience with soil characterization, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling a plus.
