An award-winning consulting engineering firm located in Elmwood Park, New Jersey is seeking a mid-level candidate with 3 or more years of experience who is willing to join our growing environmental/hazmat team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Asbestos and other hazardous substances investigations and sampling of suspect materials, investigation report writing.
- Assist Project Manager with management of asbestos abatement oversight projects/QC visits.
- Assist in development and/or review of abatement and remediation plans and specifications. Ability to read architectural and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to work effectively under a deadline.
- Ability to work both in the office and in the field.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment if working in hazardous conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:- Required: current NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator license and NYS Asbestos Inspector certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
- 3+ Years of experience in Asbestos Inspections/Investigations with knowledge of applicable regulations for New York State and New York City.
- Proficiency in computer applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- OSHA 10-hr. and OSHA 30-hr. Construction Safety.
- NYSDOL Project Monitor, Designer, Mold Assessor and EPA Lead Inspector certifications are a plus.
- Knowledge of CAD is a plus.
SALARY RANGE: The base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $105,000.
