We are seeking a Business Integration, Strategy & Sustainability Manager to support Adventures & Expeditions (A&E). You will set and oversee the execution of the strategic direction for the Sustainability efforts for both National Geographic Expeditions (NGE) and Adventures by Disney (AbD) in conjunction with Disney, National Geographic Partners, and National Geographic Society leaders. You will conduct ongoing research as needed to inform policy and procedure development for new strategic sustainability initiatives. You will work across Trip Services, Expedition Cruise and more. You will oversee performance metrics and accountability as well as working directing with sustainability partners and suppliers.
The Business Integration, Strategy & Sustainability Manager will report to the Business Integration & Strategy Manager and sits in Celebration, FL.
What You Will Do/Responsibilities:
Lead the creation and execution of Sustainability strategy for both NGE and AbD including coordination with Disney, NGP, NGE, and external partners.
Establish sustainability policies and procedures across the NGE and AbD business and ensure compliance with all applicable departments.
Collaborates with partnerships team to support the creation and review of any co-branded sustainability materials related to brand licensees.
Conducts Lodge audits and supports summarization of findings and scoring
Sustainability Policies and Standards: Responsible for day-to-day management of NGE and AbD sustainability policies and practices. Collaborates with key partners in order to maintain consistent sustainability standards across the entire portfolio of NGE and AbD programs.
Sustainability Partners: Manages the relationships with external Sustainability partners on carbon offset calculations and billing.
Suppliers: Oversees and coordinates the Sustainability audit process for NGE and AbD DMCs, vendors and partners. Compile and summarize results with recommendations for policy changes and actions to improve sustainability practices.
Trip Services: Coordinates with Trip Services on sustainable purchasing guidelines for all pre-, on-, and post- trip materials and gifts.
Performance Metrics and Accountability: Understands key metrics and trends to help maximize business efficiencies and results. Drives performance expectations and accountability related to overall business strategy and sustainability to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
Lead roll out of new policies/changes and initiatives across A&E
Participate in overall business strategy projects to support A&E.
You will Have/Required Qualifications:
3+ years experience leading and managing a team or initiative.
Prior experience in travel product management and/or Sustainability initiatives
Proven experience creating clear and consistent strategies and direction, with skills in planning and development of an evolving area.
Ability to lead and thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environment and maintain a professional composure.
Motivated self-starter who takes independent action to hold self and Leaders accountable in a metric-driven environment to drive performance.
Strong partnering, influencing, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to travel to conduct sustainability audits as needed. Process a valid Passport.
Passion for the environment and interest in collaborating across teams to solve sustainability-related challenges.
Experience with advanced Excel (including pivot tables), PowerPoint or Keynote, and other data/metrics visualization tools.
Demonstrated decision making skills based upon a mixture of analytics, experience and judgment.
Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication.
Highly skilled in working across a variety of business functional areas and as a member of a diverse, matrixed team.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years experience managing sustainability initiatives in a travel industry environment
SME within sustainability with examples of forward-thinking initiatives in a Fortune 500 company
Familiarity with Adventures by Disney and National Geographic Expeditions products and business model
Experience working with and managing outside consultants and vendors.
