Summary:
This person will provide environmental compliance and sustainability support by maintaining, managing, and implementing environmental management information systems. This person will work with clients to identify, scope, manage environmental data quality and compliance projects, and provide technical solutions and support.
Work will involve creating SQL-based regulatory reports, troubleshooting technical issues with the software platform, developing integrations with other data sources, creating compliance dashboards and email notifications, identifying data gaps, providing regulatory assistance for the preparation of compliance plans, and reviewing regulations and technical documents.
Work may also involve performing environmental data analytics and generating dashboards to support clients in monitoring performance, enhancing environmental compliance, and bolstering sustainability initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of experience supporting environmental software implementations in a consulting or industrial environment
Bachelor's degree in chemical/environmental/civil engineering; Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems; or a related scientific degree
Proficiency with Intelex ACTS and/or V6 software
Proficiency with SQL
Demonstrated experience with air emission calculations
Experience and/or familiarity with federal and state environmental regulatory programs
Strong technical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness, as well as a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, clients, and regulatory staff
Demonstrated ability to fulfill commitments on schedule and to do what it takes to meet clients' service expectations and requirements
Effectiveness in building working relationships and working on multidisciplinary project teams
A flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedule as required to meet project deadlines and/or client needs
Self-initiative and motivation, with an emphasis on client service and cultivating a career in environmental consulting
Possession of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
Ability to travel to client locations and other Barr offices
Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with off-the-shelf EHS software packages, such as EarthSoft EQuIS, Enablon, Cority, Sphera, and/or SAP EHS
Proficiency with programming languages such as Power BI, XML, Java, Python, or similar
Familiarity with requirements gathering, documentation, and organizational change management
Knowledge of and familiarity with federal and state regulatory agency staff, resource managers, and other government officials
Ability to process complex or rapidly developing information to extract key issues and implications and develop appropriate strategies
Aptitude for developing client relationships, leads, and opportunities and turning them into business
A hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office; a remote arrangement refers working primarily from a home office. This position can be based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Duluth, or Hibbing, Minnesota; Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids, Michigan; Bismarck, North Dakota; Denver, Colorado; Jefferson City, Missouri; Reno, Nevada; or Salt Lake City, Utah, offices. Remote arrangements will be considered based on candidate qualifications, location requirements, and Barr’s needs. Fulfillment of the position responsibilities will require periodic travel.

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,000–$119,000. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus.
