Job Description
Reporting to the Corporate HSE Manager, the Corporate HSE Leader will provide vision, leadership, and coaching for the HSE function across IKO’s North American operations.

When You Join Us, You Will;
Develop annual HSE goals, plans, KPIs, and continuous improvement projects
Partner in the development of HSE strategic planning and site HSE plans. Assist in driving continuous improvement within HSE function throughout the organization
Drive HSE strategy with plant leadership to foster a proactive HSE culture, compliance, and risk reduction. Lead and drive a culture change in the organization to a behavioral-based interdependent safety state
Establish and drive the HSE operating system across North American operations.
Ensure all North American manufacturing sites are compliant with external HSE regulations and internal HSE requirements and issues are identified and escalated through weekly interaction with operational site leadership
Train and develop HSE talent and capability
Conduct HSE and loss prevention audits and respond to legislative changes
Represent the company in external HSE associations and committees
Manage environmental permitting for existing and new sites
Collaborate with operational directors to drive key initiatives and support the Plant Manager’s HSE goals for their site
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
Bachelor’s degree in science/environmental, engineering, chemistry, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred)
25-30% travel – Occasional travel to the US
Minimum 5 years of progressive HSE experience in a multi-site environment, with demonstrated experience with scope and complexity of the company environment
2-3 years of leadership experience, including people management is an asset
Experience in process safety management and leading HSE culture change in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of Canada and US HSE laws, regulations, and permitting requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
Valid driver’s license and clear driver abstract
Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and / or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and / or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) are an asset
