The Sustainability Analyst (CG02/CG03) must have experience contributing to ESG Strategy, Reporting or Disclosure projects. Applicable project types include materiality assessments, ESG/CSR reports, CDP or similar disclosures, Science-based Targets, ESG program roadmaps, CSRD and ESG regulations, Scope 3, and supply-chain analysis. Under the guidance of an associate or above, I will support quantitative or qualitative project tasks in support of client deliverables.
An Analyst should be able to perform their portion of a project task with minimal oversight, creating and present compelling, evidence-based written and visual summaries of your analysis for both internal and external audiences. Take initiative and proactively find solutions to questions being asked or problems to be solved. Work on always being ‘one step ahead’ of our clients. Make recommendations on how to improve current work products and processes. Assisted with special projects such as preparing analysis for conferences, creating content cooperatively with marketing, writing blog posts, etc. Engage in cross-functional collaboration with all of the company’s business areas that relate to sustainability activities.
This position will report to an Associate or above. This is a Full-Time, Part-Time, or On-Call Hybrid position reporting to our Walnut Creek location.

- Assist project team members with the research, preparation, and completion of client deliverables
- Flexibility and interest contributing to multiple kinds of ESG and sustainability projects at once
- Create and contribute to internal and client-facing documents
- Bring enthusiasm and drive to provide our clients, our team, and our company the best possible solutions and data
Skills
- Strong research and writing abilities within tight deadlines/timeframes
- Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated facility with written and verbal business English, spelling, grammar, and vocabulary
- Keen attention to detail in quantitative and qualitative materials
- Ability to follow processes and ask informed questions
- Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Data Analysis skills
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including written and phone
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Self-motivated and resourceful in completing assigned tasks
- Ability to work on assigned projects with minimal supervision
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with different teams to accomplish tasks
- Professional demeanor, and an ability to handle assignments, as well as confidential information, with professionalism, tact, and discretion
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related discipline or equivalent experience
- At least 1 years of related experience in sustainability / ESG
- General understanding of the principles and practices of the environmental consulting industry
- Technical competence and understanding of one or more specialties in ESG Strategy, Disclosure or Reporting in a corporate environment
Work Environment
The position operates in a dynamic and highly collaborative work environment. FCS is dedicated to providing our staff the opportunity to elect hybrid office/home working location options. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Salary: $19.50 - $30.00 Hourly
