Prime Response Inc. (PRI), is seeking a full-time Sustainability Management Program Analyst for a long-term government contract located in Alexandria, VA. This position is hybrid remote with as needed in office requirements from time to time. Hours are slightly flexible during normal business hours Monday – Friday.
The Sustainability Management Program Analyst will provide requirements analysis and documentation, including:
- Independently manage all required tasks, but will have reach back, guidance, and mentorship from Senior level Sustainability Managers. This is a great opportunity to learn and be mentored by highly experienced Federal Sustainability professionals.
- Identification of sustainability gaps or areas where existing processes or structures fall short.
- Identification of the corrections necessary for areas of improvement.
- Assist government customer in setting and meeting sustainability goals around pollution free electricity, zero emission vehicle fleets, zero emissions buildings and procurement supply chain.
Duties:
- Generate tangible recommendations to meet the targets in the areas listed above, to include return on investment figures.
- Generate a report to propose a 3-5 year strategy for government customer to begin making sustainability improvement efforts.
- Complete the annual Greenhouse Gas Emissions Excel worksheet due annually by the end of January.
- Identify possible mitigative strategies to reduce the negative impacts of climate change.
- Evaluate potential key vulnerabilities to agency facilities, infrastructure, and building operations to prioritize vulnerabilities by level of risk. In tandem, identify possible mitigative measures to minimize the negative impacts caused by climate change and events.
- Track and monitor weather events that could potentially impact any of its real and personal property and interests and respond accordingly.
- Monitor updates to flood zone designation and update emergency procedures as well as continuity of operations plans as needed.
- Promote employee education and awareness training to better understand and address issues, as appropriate, and to develop adaptation strategies to manage the impacts of climate change as they are identified.
- Responsible for managing multiple projects by providing technical direction to mid-level contractor analysts, as needed, and helping to ensure that the project is completed on time.
- Ensure that there is adequate contractor staff coverage to support the sustainability and climate change workload.
- Manage creative milestones to make the work more manageable, spread milestones over realistic timescales and track notable progress to meet.
- Ensure contract personnel communicate throughout the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college in sustainability, environment, research or other closely related discipline.
- Two to four years of professional experience in sustainability or environmental related fields.
- Data entry and analysis experience.
- Quantitative and analytical skills in analyzing data and assessing ROI, payback times, etc.
- Technical writing skills.
- Experience and ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and control drawings.
- Experience with Energy Saving Performance Contracts preferred.
- Knowledge and experienced with HVAC, controls, and electrical systems.
- Electricity generation knowledge and experience.
- Electrical Grid knowledge and experience.
- Solar, Wind, and other renewal project experience, from design through implementation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Current knowledge of sustainability practices and applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to analyze and understand research and to identify relevant and valuable information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Presentation skills are required to deliver materials and project updates.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Energy Manager
- LEED (AP, or the newer Green and Building Operations + Maintenance certs)
- One of the Green Globes Certifications such as Emerging Professional, Professional, or Guiding Principles Compliance Professional.
- Professional Engineer with related experience.
