Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineering Intern to support an expanding portfolio of projects in our Syracuse, NY office in Summer 2025.
Working within our design and engineering teams, you will use your specialism in civil engineering or environmental engineering to contribute to projects related to permitting and impact assessments, stakeholder engagement, and urban and environmental planning.
The role sits within our global business area Resilience. In Resilience we work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.
Role accountabilities:
The position will include, but is not limited to, activities such as:
- Civil/Environmental engineering design including land development planning, hydraulic modeling/calculations, erosion and sediment control evaluations and layout, and earthwork site design
- Developing permit/construction-level drawings and details
- Preparing technical specifications
- Report writing for civil and environmental permitting
- Construction cost evaluation/estimating
- Office-based support of active construction projects (e.g., submittal reviews, field change documentation, site layout information)
Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills, the ability to work well in a team environment, and be proficient with Microsoft office. The candidate will have a strong desire to pursue a career in the civil and/or environmental engineering sector.

- Pursuing a B.S. in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering discipline.
Arcadis offers benefits for part-time, as needed positions. These benefits include EAP, 401K, and optional wellbeing benefits. The salary range for this position is $17.00-$26.00 / hour. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
