Mission
At Zelestra, we are looking for a Project Manager to join the Development team in our Bogotá office. The main mission is to manage the project portfolio from a development perspective, coordinating due diligence activities for the acquisition of development projects or operational assets, and/or overseeing co-development contracts. In line with this, the Project Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects and activities of project development up to the start of construction. Additionally, you will need to identify, develop, and manage projects in Greenfield and Brownfield status to achieve the Ready To Build state. This includes, among others, site selection, environmental studies, permits, engineering, stakeholder management, access to the electrical grid, and other requirements related to financial closure. All of this is aimed at contributing to the development of the renewable energy project pipeline and thus supporting the achievement of strategic company objectives.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development of assigned projects to advance them to a Ready to Build status on time, within budget, and with the quality required by Zelestra standards.
- Identify and propose risk mitigation measures for assigned projects.
- Identify optimal land for project development, considering construction, logistical, and resource variables.
- Process and coordinate the main permits and contracts for the projects to achieve Ready to Build status, in coordination with other company areas.
- Maintain communication with personnel from public and private administrations, organizations, and other entities for the processing of required project permits, as well as managing community participation for assigned projects.
- Coordinate and lead the interconnection process to the electrical system and negotiate interconnection contracts.
- Coordinate and lead the drafting of studies and technical documentation with the technical team: production studies, designs, budgets.
- Support the construction area in construction aspects, contract negotiation, and potential claims with contractors.
Job Requirements
- Professional degree in fields such as Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or related training.
- At least 5 years of overall professional experience.
- Over 3 years of experience in renewable energy companies, leading solar and/or other technology projects.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Project.
- High level of knowledge of Colombian electrical regulations.
- High level of knowledge in environmental instruments analysis.
- Advanced or native Spanish.
- Intermediate English.
