The Quality Control(QC) Technician will support the North American Remanufacturing operations team in a highly visible role where you will have the opportunity to use your broad skills as a quality technician working on next-generation home battery storage and solar inverter systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The QC technician will be responsible for maintaining high-quality processes and procedures related to the remanufacturing processes as documented
- Capable of reviewing engineering materials including but not limited to BOMs, design sheets, CAD files, and spec sheets.
- Experience using typical quality-related measurement devices and tools
- Responsible for identifying, authoring, and processing QANs (quality assurance notices) to drive compliance requirements
- Identify, maintain, and report on quality performance metrics while driving toward root cause solutions
- Audit the manufacturing lines for compliance, improvements, and procedures
- Monitor and determine root causes of any issues or problems in real-time while identifying and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Participate in continuous improvement activities with manufacturing, engineering, and other cross-functional teams
- Support PFMEA/FMEA activities to ensure design, quality, and manufacturing issues are identified, addressed, and resolved
- Provide feedback to all engineering teams and local leadership
- Proficiency with both hand and power tools including knowledge of those tools and how they’re used correctly and safely
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- 2+ years experience building and or inspecting electro-mechanical assemblies required
- Knowledge of standard lab and general safety practices
- Prior experience with electro-mechanical assemblies quality assurance
- Ability to enter production data into computer-based systems with accuracy and speed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and procedures
- GD&T (Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing) knowledge is preferred
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, 5S, TPS, TQM, etc. is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including SharePoint/Office 365 skills
- Strong aptitude for electronics testing and related measurements systems
- Capable of authoring QANs, quality documents, and technical documents including SOPs
- Strong organization, time management, and decision-making skills
- Technical writing experience
