Minimum Requirements
- Wireman’s license, three phase in order to do COC / Trade Test or similar
- Driver’s license and able to get to work reliably (company car available for site visits)
- Experience working with Atess, Huwei, Freedom Won and Fronius
- Experience installing commercial PV systems and Battery solutions
- Operations & Management background
- Min 3 years commercial solar experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements. Inspect, test, and maintain plant and equipment. Undertake AC and DC system testing, troubleshooting and fault-finding.
- Perform reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution. Troubleshoot and repair on sensors and communication equipment.
- Working with suppliers to support diagnosis of faults DC and LV installation, fault finding, testing, and commissioning.
- This will include monitoring our installations on various cloud-based portals, fault finding, being the first port of call to customers if there are any systems errors or issues.
- Conduct fault finding on comms boards and understand layout.
- Identifying the cause of malfunctioning components and determining how to correct the fault.
- Checking the health of inverters online/remote/on site
- Interpret yield deviations and relate these to real site conditions (e.g. shading or likely technical problems)
- Operate and work with inverters eg. check for and perform firmware updates on inverters either remotely or on site, using various protocols.
- Log into inverters, download logs and use inverter manufacturer software/interface at inverters (variety of inverter manufacturers)
- Working with manufacturer support to fix errors.
- Replace inverters: liaising with inverter manufacturers and carry out the physical replacement and commissioning of the inverter.
