Job Title: Assistant Facility Engineer

Job Description: The Assistant Facility Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the facility’s infrastructure and systems to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable operations. This role involves overseeing building systems, coordinating maintenance activities, managing facility projects, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Responsibilities:
- Facility Management:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, Wastewater treatment, Water Operation, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and efficient condition.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for all facility systems.
- Ensure the facility system is consistent operating at optimum level.
- Project Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage facility improvement projects, including renovations, upgrades, and repairs.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Prepare project plans, budgets, and timelines, and report on project progress.
- Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to building systems and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify maintenance needs and potential improvements.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all facility operations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Energy and Waste Management:
- Monitor and manage energy consumption to promote sustainability and reduce costs.
- Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives and best practices.
- Track and analyze utility usage and costs, and report on energy efficiency.
- Monitor and manage waste generated to ensure compliance to EPA requirements
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, facility inspections, and equipment performance.
- Prepare and present reports on facility operations, maintenance, and project status.
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Vendor and Contractor Management:
- Coordinate and oversee the work of external vendors and contractors.
- Review and approve service contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure service quality meets facility standards.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with facility staff, management, and other departments to address facility needs and support operational goals.
- Provide training and support to staff on facility-related procedures and safety practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in facility management, building systems maintenance, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in facility management software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in facility management (e.g., Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP)).
- Experience with energy management and sustainability practices.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to the industry or facility type.
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and industry trends.
- Willingness to continuously learn and update skills.
Working Conditions:
- Standard office environment with frequent visits to facility areas and production environments.
- May require occasional travel to other facilities or vendor locations.
- May involve working outside of regular hours to address facility issues or oversee projects.
