What to expect:
- Define and own the battery test strategy, contributing to the overall test strategy of the electrical propulsion system
- Plan, define, execute, post-process, and evaluate battery characterization, integration, and qualification tests from cell level to integrated battery-wing level
- Define and implement test setups for battery validation and verification
- Specify and plan test equipment and associated facility interfaces
- Lead the mechanical, electrical, and thermal layout, implementation, and validation of battery test setups
- Oversee all battery test campaigns and act as the main contact for external test and lab personnel
- Establish test plans, procedures, and reports, ensuring traceability of results to design requirements
- Generate battery test results as means of compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support battery cell and system modeling, SiL, and HiL activities, focusing on test synergies and risk, time, and cost reduction opportunities
- Ensure compliance with regulations related to personal safety, equipment protection, installations, and environmental standards
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in battery technology, performance, and testing, including Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) and aging tests
What you bring along:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field; certification as a qualified electrician is a plus
- Fluent English is essential; proficiency in German or other languages is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in Li-ion cell and/or battery testing, technology, chemistry, design, production, or modeling
- Strong background in electric energy storage and testing, preferably in the field of electric mobility
- Excellent knowledge of Verification & Validation (V&V) processes, test management, measurement principles, and data acquisition
- Established network with battery test labs, cell manufacturers, and researchers is advantageous
- High motivation to build structures and processes within the organization
- Self-reliant, with the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
- Target-oriented, driven work style with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
