Battery and Charger Service Technician

We are looking for a Battery and Charger Service Technician on 1st shift with strong experience in maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment to join our team!
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervision, and management
- Ability to use hand tools (drills, grinders, needle guns, air ratchet, rivet gun, torches, welders)
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
- Valid CDL Driver’s License with a good driving record or be able to meet requirements to obtain a CDL
- Experience with safety and environmental training
- Forklift experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for accounting and maintenance of warehouse inventory.
- Prepares customer orders, loads and unloads batteries from the factory.
- Responsible for stock rotation and repair: Puts stock rotation on charge, cleans and replaces back in stock or used rack. Completes repair work as necessary.
- Accountable for accurate and neat paperwork.
- Performs all housekeeping duties.
- Is responsible for:
- Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions
- Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to appropriate personnel
- Controlling nonconforming products
- Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions
- Is familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
- Test Batteries, diagnose and resolve battery issues
- Diagnose and resolve charge issues
- Replace defective or bad cells
- Repair battery trays
- Make deliveries to customers

Work Environment:
This job operates in an industrial warehouse environment. This role routinely uses industrial equipment and tools and works near moving mechanical parts. This position routinely visits customer locations. This position may require you to work in confined spaces.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for 8 hours at a time
- Use of both hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or tooling; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
- The employee must be able to lift or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time, day shift position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, at minimum of 8-hour shifts. Must be able to work all mandatory overtime as required; this could lead to working weekday and weekend overtime.
