Position Overview:
The Novelis Kennesaw team is seeking a Solar Development, Chemistry R&D Co-Op. The person in this role will report to the Principal Scientist, Global Roadmap Leader, Theresa MacFarlane. The ideal candidate will be responsible for development and screening of electron transport layers (ETL) for solar applications. This position will be responsible for this key deliverable for the solar perovskite project and determine whether an aluminum substrate can be used for a perovskite solar cell. This position will begin in May 2025 and End in December 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Develop flame pyrolysis process for a uniform deposition of ETL’s.
- Collaborate with external supplies to source precursors and samples for testing.
- Determine optimum coating thickness for an ETL on aluminum for each process route in collaboration with the team at Novelis/GT.
- Use chemical analysis techniques to determine uniformity and composition of coating layer deposited in each case.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ideally Chemistry/ Chemical engineering graduate and any year.

- Thorough/Detail oriented
- Chemistry knowledge
- Hands on / trouble shooting ability (ability to work comfortably with lab equipment)
