Project Manager, Subcontractor Oversight (Natrium)
The Project Manager for Subcontractor Oversight will have primary responsibility for coordinating the integration of a specific subcontractor scope into the Natrium Project.The position will report directly to the Deputy Project Director having overall project management responsibility of the Natrium Demonstration Project and will have significant interface with other high level Natrium Managers and executive leadership.
Responsibilities
• Act as primary interface and manage the relationship with the assigned subcontractor.
• Ensure that the subcontractor scope and performance is fully aligned with the project needs, and that the subcontractor is complying with project process requirements.
• Develop Scopes of Work and Procurement Requisitions.
• Work with project teams to ensure that the subcontractor activities are captured into the Natrium integrated project schedule, and subcontractor deliverables are provided on time and of sufficient quality.
• Ensure subcontractor is working consistent with the allocated cost and within schedule.Monitor and analyze cost and schedule performance/variances against the schedule baseline using earned value data recorded and actual costs compared to the time-phased budget.Provide oversight management to address any areas of underperformance.
• Coordinate with other Subcontractor Oversight PMs to achieve process efficiencies and collaboration.
• Identify issues associated with subcontractor work that may have an adverse impact on the success of the project, and drive remedies to those issues.
• Ensure subcontractor meets the key milestones established in the integrated schedule.
• Ensure subcontractor records and related correspondence is stored in the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
• Act as intermediary between subcontractor and TerraPower when conflict or differences of opinion arise.
• Work with engineering management and project management to ensure that there is not duplication between scope of subcontractor and prime.
• Minimize unjustified subcontractor scope growth.
• Work collaboratively with the engineering departments and key leads across the project, Contracts and Procurement, Finance, as well as other internal partners to meet project goals.
• Review subcontractor work for project acceptance and ensure that the engineering departments perform design reviews of the subcontractor work.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure that the subcontractor is working in accordance with Quality requirements.
Key Qualifications and Skills
• Minimum Education: B.S degree, with M.S. or advanced degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong preference for degree with Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering or related subject focus.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience directly related to Engineering, Project Management or Project Delivery with preference for 3 years’ of engineering project leadership or management experience.
• Working knowledge of project controls tools, including scheduling and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
• Technical background, including engineering management, is highly desirable.
• Strong ability to drive improvements and achieve results.
• Strong organizational skills required

*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 – 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary band. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications and experience.This range is specific to the state of North Carolina.
