Solar States - Service and O&M Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION
In the Service and O&M Technician (“SOMT”) role, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining our previous and current fleet of residential and commercial installations. This role is constantly evolving and changing as we install more and more solar arrays, and we take on more and more O&M work. This role is wide ranging in its requirements and skill sets required to succeed. The main tasks will be documenting, tracking, and maintaining our service calls and maintenance pipeline, and creating opportunities for revenue while maintaining happy homeowners. This role will also be responsible for building and maintaining our monitoring platforms prior to and after completion of each installation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all incoming service and support needs of our growing installed clients. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the below:
● Documentation for RMA’s, faulty systems, upgraded systems, invoicing to clients, and tracking through our internal CRM as well as on our service calendar
● Ensure personal, crew, and job site safety at all times, meeting OSHA and company standards at all times.
● Physically fit, must be able to lift 50 lbs of weight frequently throughout the day, occasionally lifting 75 lbs
● Heavy lifting of modules, ballast, and/or installation material to the location of the installation, typically via the use of ladders or lifts
● Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and work on rooftops
● Ability to bend, stoop, and pickup product from various elevations
● Work outdoors in the elements
● Work safely to prevent on the job accidents and injuries.
● Operation of general carpentry, hand, and power tools, and occasional heavy machinery
● Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on residential solar, commercial solar and solar farms that are roof mounted or ground mounted when needed
● Troubleshooting electrical, control equipment faults, monitoring issues virtually most often
● Replacement/installation of hardware, PV modules, inverters, monitoring equipment and any other component Prepare reports, mostly through automated tools, if needed to comply with deliverables in O&M contracts
● Building of our new installations and monitoring systems prior to and after job completion
● Use of equipment and resources in accordance with instructions provided by the company
● Adherence to Company policies, quality, environmental health and safety policies and good housekeeping practices Weekend on call duties for emergency response to significant faults
