MAJOR DUTIES: The working title for this position is Chief Program Officer. As a Chief Program Officer, you will perform the following duties: Plan and manage major and continuing regional/agency program segments. Ensure products meet customer requirements; monitor the policy, programs, and procedures for producing and disseminating data, analysis and prediction products and services for timeliness, accuracy, and quality. Serve as a senior member of the management team and provides scientific, leadership, and strategic direction in assisting the Director in carrying out the mission of the National Weather Service (NWS)/region divisions including developing and implementing program policies, plans, guidelines, standards, proposals, processes, and making recommendations on the development of new or updated internal operating procedures, controls, and instructions.
