JOB SUMMARY: Serve as Park Manager for Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial based in Put-in-Bay, Ohio, located on South Bass Island in Lake Erie. MAJOR DUTIES: Serves as the Superintendent for Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial in Ohio. You will be responsible for the management, administration, community relations, facilities maintenance, visitor protection, interpretation, natural and cultural resources management, visitor services, security, and continued development of the area. The authority to manage Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial (PEVI) is delegated by the Superintendent, Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Some of the duties you will perform include, but are not limited to: Provide administrative and technical supervision to subordinate staff, providing administrative and technical supervision/direction of the park to facilitate work. Direct and supervise the planning, organizing, development, control, and evaluation of operations and management programs for the park including leadership in the development of policies, standards and procedures. Oversee planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the applicable resource management program. Represent the National Park Service and the park in primary communications. Oversee and manage natural and/or cultural resource protection of the park. Park Information: Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial (PEVI) was established in 1936 to honor those who fought in the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812 and to celebrate the long-lasting peace between Britain, Canada, and the United States obtained through arbitration and disarmament. Excellent quality park housing is available. Area Information: PEVI is a 25-acre site located at Put-in-Bay, Ohio on South Bass Island in western Lake Erie. The only commercial access to South Bass Island is by ferry or plane from April to November. Annually, approximately 150,000 visitors have the opportunity to take the elevator to the top of the 352-foot Monument. On the park grounds there is visitor center, ranger station, administrative office, maintenance facility, and nine park housing units. Services in Put-In-Bay include a bank, churches, EMS services, grocery store, gas station, K-12 school, library, police, restaurants, and shops. Other services are located on the mainland in Port Clinton and nearby Sandusky. Park housing may be available.
