JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, in the Office of the Superintedent. Open to the first 100 applicants or until 11/15/2024 whichever comes first. MAJOR DUTIES: The incumbent is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the protection of facilities and sites of historical and cultural significance; protecting equipment and material; and monitoring access to the Park. This includes serving as an advisor to management and oversight of the wildland and structural fire protection programs and fleet management. This includes: Responsible for physical security and fire protection/prevention programs by monitoring a complex alarm/remote monitoring system used for fire, intrusion, maintenance, and environmental protection. The incumbent is responsible for the oversight of a structural and wildland fire protection and prevention program to ensure life safety of park personnel, a large ongoing population of public visitors, and physical protection of park facilities, structures, cultural and natural resources. Responsible for safety and occupational health program by assisting the Zone Safety Manager in executing the safety and occupational health program for the park. The incumbent provides operational guidance to management and professional support for life-cycle asset management including the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles, vessels, equipment, and other fleet assets for Guilford Courthouse NMP. Area Information: Guilford Courthouse National Military is six miles from downtown Greensboro. Greensboro is located in a temperate climate with four equal seasons. Summer high temperatures average in the high 80's with high humidity. The City of Greensboro has a population of approximately 200,000. The Piedmont Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High-Point and outlying areas) has a population of over 1 million.
