JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent will serve as Research Leader for the Livestock Behavior Research Unit in West Lafayette, IN, and participate in a research project for NP101, Optimizing Welfare for Food Producing Animals. The incumbent will lead a team responsible for developing scientific measures of livestock stress and well-being and identifying sustainable approaches to optimize animal welfare. MAJOR DUTIES: Exploring measures that identify positive and negative states of welfare related to behavior, physiological response, neurological function, immune status, physical and mental health, and productivity in food-producing animals.
