EnSafe is accepting applications for a NEPA Practitioner/ Environmental Scientist to join one of our offices in either Memphis, Nashville or Knoxville.

What We Are Looking for
We are seeking a NEPA Practitioner Program Manager who thrives in navigating complex environmental regulations and project challenges. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with Categorical Exclusions (CATEX) and Environmental Assessments (EA), coupled with a strong commitment to implementing NEPA for federal agencies. Additionally, a program manager who is ready to lead teams in an environment that fosters creativity, collaboration at all levels, a culture of support, and professional growth. What you will be doing:
- Typical project assignments will involve managing and completing some or all aspects of the NEPA process for our federally funded clients.
- Initial coordination, special studies, draft, and final NEPA documents.
- Manage the public review process and draft project closure documentation (FONSI/FONPA).
- Typical projects include various military agencies, Department of Transportation, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) facilities as well as other project sites.
- EnSafe is a sell/manage/do organization, so your duties will also include supporting marketing/business development efforts and serving in a managing role over support staff.
What you will need:
- We require a BS in environmental science, public health, or related health or environmental science discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of NEPA experience (preferably within a professional services organization).
- Demonstrated knowledge of the application of NEPA for multiple federal agencies.
- Research client/project opportunities and preparation of proposals and budgets.
- Project management experience including development of scopes of work and management of project teams and specialty subconsultants.
- Experience in Categorical Exclusions (CATEX) and Environmental Assessments
- Technical expertise in biological resources (ecology, wildlife, threatened and endangered species), wetlands, and streams.
- Understanding of state and federal regulatory frameworks, and Section 106 review process.
- Strong client communication and writing skills.
- Ability to direct internal teams and specialty team members to accomplish required studies (wetland delineations, Phase I ESAs, etc.).
