· Implement, execute, and ensure compliance with INDEVCO North America’s Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
· Responsible for the analysis, preparation, and maintenance of mandatory/regulatory related safety & environmental reports/records.
· Responsible for Workers’ Compensation loss control programs and reporting requirements.
· Responsible for directing safety committee and Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities.
· Create EHS annual budget, including development of expense and capital budgets needed to support these efforts.
· Ensure that required regulatory permits are acquired, that reports are submitted to regulatory agencies, and any site permit conditions (e.g. sampling, recordkeeping) are met.
· Achieve annual targets for incident frequency, severity and related cost reductions.
· Participate in formal EHS reviews of existing equipment modifications, new equipment purchases, and changes in site processes.
· Lead incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
· Interface with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, State/Local Regulators).
· Interface with outside plant vendors for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual inspections.
· Interact with outside contractors and visitors to ensure safety compliance.
· Facilitate the completion of the annual classroom and hands on training.
· Act as resource to plant management teams regarding all security related operations.
· Develop, update, and implement security/loss control policies as they relate to employee, visitor, trucker, and contractor activities while on plant properties.
· Direct safety orientation for new employees.
· Administer plant hearing conversation program and annual audiometric testing.
· Coordinate industrial hygiene, and monitoring efforts.
· Conduct daily spot inspections, and quarterly inspection with plant insurance provider.
· Conduct quarterly Workers’ Compensation file reviews with insurance carrier.
· Help Quality Assurance efforts pertaining to Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
· In the absence of shift supervisor, will assume necessary operational and administrative duties.
· Any and all other duties as assigned.

Required Job Qualifications & Competencies
Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Engineering and or Management preferred.
· Professional EHS certification is preferred (CIH, CSP, CHMM, and / or PE).
· 3 - 5 years’ professional safety experience in manufacturing industry.
· Proven track record in driving cultural change in EHS.
· Experience in packaging or food manufacturing environment preferred.
· Functional EHS Knowledge in regulatory requirements, EHS technical aspects (safety, industrial hygiene, environmental), risk management, behavior-based safety, training, auditing / program review, regulatory agency enforcement, EHS vendor / consultant management, business knowledge required.
· Strong communication skills, as well as excellent influence management skills.
· Incumbent must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks without losing momentum while also completing all daily tasks efficiently and effectively.
