Look no further! We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated EHS Officer to join our team. If you thrive on ensuring compliance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and maintaining the highest standards in GMP and hygiene, this role is for you!
As an EHS Officer, you will be the driving force behind our EHS policies and procedures, overseeing our manufacturing facility, laboratories, and office locations. Occasional travel within the Southeast of England and London will be required. You will also have the opportunity to deputize for the European EHS Manager, making some international experience highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessments: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive risk assessments. Engage with managers and staff to identify hazards and recommend control measures.
- Incident Investigation: Lead investigations, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prepare detailed reports.
- Audits & Inspections: Conduct regular EHS audits, maintain records, and support third-party audits.
- Digital Systems & Reporting: Manage digital EHS systems, compile monthly reports, and track performance.
- Training: Develop and deliver EHS training programs. Ensure all staff are competent in safe working practices.
- Policy Development: Assist in the development and communication of EHS policies and procedures. Monitor effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans. Conduct drills and coordinate with local emergency services.
- Environmental Management: Monitor and manage environmental aspects, ensure compliance, and promote sustainability initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary EHS contact at the site level. Liaise with regulatory bodies and foster strong relationships with site management and employees.

- Proven ability to deliver results under pressure.
- Holds a valid UK driving license.
Education & Experience:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Proven experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG.
- Strong knowledge of UK EHS legislation and regulations.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and EHS audits.
- Proficiency in using digital EHS management systems and tools.
