Responsible for providing environmental compliance in coordination with the Site Coordinator to include environmental compliance reporting, environmental compliance inspections, environmental plan creation and maintenance, environmental permit compliance tracking, and other duties as needed to support the BEP/WCF Environmental Engineering Branch (EEB) mission and objectives.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Environmental Engineer: starting at $90,000, DOE
Pay commensurate with experience.

Environmental Engineer Responsibilities Include:
- Provides specialized environmental compliance technical support to the BEP WCF EEB.
- Responsible for completion of all air, water, and waste environmental compliance reporting, inspection, and permitting requirements for the EEB mission.
- Assists EEB staff with maintaining EEB Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001).
- Provides training as needed.
- Performs Quality Control of all project deliverables before delivery to clients.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Environmental Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
Education & Clearance Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a high-risk Public Trust clearance are required.
Experience & Knowledge
- Proven experience in environmental compliance support.
- Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations.
- Hands-on experience with Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001).
- Knowledge of Federal and Texas state permitting processes for air quality, hazardous materials, waste, and wastewater management.
- Background in inspecting air pollution control devices and hazardous materials handling.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to make presentations and address government inquiries.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation tools.
- Solid grasp of business English, including correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong mathematical skills, including proficiency in fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and addressing diverse business, operational, and strategic challenges.
- Adaptable to shifting priorities and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Other Requirements
- Must meet Cherokee Federal’s pre-employment qualifications.
- This position requires an active High Risk Public Trust clearance, due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
