Position Summary:
Coordinates detailed technical activities involved with the management, use and disposal of hazardous materials, chemicals and oversees air and water quality. Conducts site investigations; prepares reports and facilitates activities to ensure compliance with Safety regulations and procedures. Provides for the collections, transportation and storage of hazard waste and materials. Also directs the Health & Safety programs for all facets of the organization and performs activities to promote the maintenance of a safe & healthy work environment. Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tracks and improves environmental performance.
- Leads Safety Committee effectiveness and development.
- Works with HR to manage Workers Compensation Programs to effectively utilize, “return to work” programs and job duty availability.
- Identifies potential causes of workplace injuries.
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Perform regular workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Coordinate and deliver training programs for employees on various EHS topics, including emergency response, hazardous material handling, and workplace ergonomics.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Utilize Dover’s Enablon platform.
- Assist with the hazardous waste program, including collection, storage, disposal, and documentation, in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Serve as the liaison with regulatory agencies for inspections, permits, and reporting requirements related to environmental, health, and safety matters.
- Develop and implement wellness programs that promote employee health and reduce work-related illnesses and injuries. Manage worker’s compensation & injury treatment.
- Manage the Safety Committee and ensure the auditing process is fully implemented with actions and recordkeeping.
- Oversee 5s Auditing program for the entire facility, ensure data is correctly stored and actions are completed.
- Providing solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards.
- Keeping abreast of the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Schedule and lead JSA Safety kaizens throughout various areas of the facility to ensure continuous improvement at a process level.
- Mange the Good Catch program by training employees, following up on incomplete Good Catches, & reporting via TIER metrics to PSG & Dover.
- Coordinating and conducting emergency response drills.
- Submit purchase orders for Safety, Facilities & Maintenance department.
- Report out monthly hours & TRIR to leadership team, PSG, & Dover via Enablon.
- Perform monthly safety trainings for all production staff.
- Manage prescription safety glasses program with RxOptical and hearing conservation program.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and /or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: PHR or SPHR certification desired to indicate proficiency and competency.

Salary Range : $72,000.00 - $94,000.00
