The role: WKC is offering an opportunity for the role of an Environmental Consultant. The role is based in the UAE (Abu Dhabi) with a focus on offering support to WKC’s Audit and EIA services.
Responsibilities:
- Support in the delivery of audits, due diligence, and strategic consulting activities and projects.
- Prepare audit reports in alignment with EAD and DM’s technical guidelines.
- Prepare, manage, and cost multidisciplinary proposals in support of your line manager and senior colleagues.
- Relative independence and responsibility in proposal delivery to Clients and manage key discussions.
- Become knowledgeable and conversant on UAE, KSA, and IFC World Bank regulations, guidelines, and standards with a focus on ADNOC, EAD, DM and NCEC.
- Complete understanding and capabilities to conduct studies and reports as per WKC assessment methods, EAD, and DM’s reporting style and structure.
- Familiarisation of UAE permitting portals such as TAMM and DM portals.
- Maintain WKC quality of deliverables and manage Client expectations in a professional manner.
- Cooperate and integrate with the WKC audit team. Liaise and become familiar with WKC UAE operations (policies and procedures, team, and service lines).
- Support in managing EIA preparation and delivery.
- Analysis and comprehension of baseline, laboratory analysis, and technical reports for input into EIA Reports.
- Provide technical expertise in soil and groundwater.
- Travel within the UAE, and other Middle Eastern countries for short periods.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., chemical engineering, environmental science, chemistry, ecology, etc.).
- At least five (5) years of previous experience in environmental audits and studies.
- Excellent report writing skills for preparation of technical reports.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Fluent English Speaker.
- Understanding of UAE (Federal, Abu Dhabi and Dubai) Environmental Regulations and KSA Environmental Regulations.
- Understanding of field survey techniques, data, and sample analysis.
- Understanding of and experience delivering large IFC ESIA Projects.
- Experience in ISO MS
- Ability to interface with clients.
- Attention-to-detail, meticulous organisational skills.
- Abilities to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines.
Candidate Preferences:
- Field experience in collecting baseline data or conducting environmental research.
- Experienced in developing management plan and/or monitoring programme for large projects.
- Master of Science in key academic subject (e.g. biology, environmental engineering / science etc.).
- With a valid Driver’s license.
- Membership to a relevant professional organisation (e.g. IEMA or similar) and preferably chartered member status.
