Fuji Vegetable Oil, Inc. is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic team player to join our Safety Team as an Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator for our Savannah, GA Plant. Our pay range for the EHS Coordinator is $61,500 to $78,000 based on experience. 2 Bonus Opportunities each year based on Performance. This position is available immediately!

Summary
Performs professional environmental, health and safety work in an industrial environment. Ensures workplace compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other state, local, or industry specific EHS regulations. The ability to communicate with a multi-disciplinary workforce is essential; perform related work as required. The EHS Coordinator may work a staggered shift and or 2nd shift as needed. Reports directly to the EHS Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with Fuji Vegetable Oil EHS training requirements.
- Implement new or updated internal safety and environmental policies as needed.
- Support compliance with all environmental programs to include, storm water, wastewater (NPDES), SPCC, RCRA, and other Federal and State regulatory requirements.
- Assist with Federal, State and County environmental reporting and documentation requirements, such as Tier II, Discharge Monitoring Reports, etc.
- Support safety and environmental site audit processes.
- Participate in the incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans.
- Interact closely with contractors to facilitate completion of Job Hazard Analyses prior to site entry.
- Assists with food safety and plant sanitation programs including internal sanitation audits.
- Perform periodic audits of contractors to determine adherence to all required EHS procedures and requirements.
- Develops EHS Alerts for distribution throughout the Fuji Vegetable Oil platform.
- Ensure Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) have been completed for high-risk work.
- Assist EHS Manager in implementing new worker safety rules and regulations to site personnel and management.
- Attends Safety Committee Meeting and disseminate pertinent information to plant team leads.
- Lead by example and correct unsafe behaviors immediately to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Evaluate best practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
- Conduct safety training and presentations on health and safety matters and accident prevention.
- Engages with employees to promote safety.
- Investigates reports about unsafe working conditions and submits to EHS Manager along with corrective actions.
- Inspect equipment and machinery for possible unsafe work conditions.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
- Create or update reports on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
- Work with Production Team Leaders to assess hazards and implement plans to mitigate risk of hazards.
- Provide forklift, (MEWP) Mobile Elevated Work Platforms and backhoe training
- Other tasks as assigned by EHS Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor or Associate Degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering or related scientific field
- A minimum of three years of experience in the implementation and management of EHS programs and management systems, preferably within industrial operations.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety position in general industry, manufacturing or Fats & Oils Refining/Blending
- Proven Experience in Environmental Agency Reporting (Air, Wastewater, Storm Water, Tier II, EPCRA)
- EHS related experience in general industry manufacturing environments with direct exposure to environmental and/or health and safety field
Qualifications
- Knowledge of applicable 29 CFR 1910 - OSHA General Industry Standards
- Knowledge and skill in using a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications.
- Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Public speaking and presentation skills ability to coordinate the activities of environmental, industrial hygiene, safety, and health matters with EHS Manager pertaining to the compliance status of the site.

- Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in communication and persuasion in employee interactions.
