Position Description:
Senior Specialist, Environmental Sustainability, Global Safety & Environment
The Senior Specialist will report to the Director, Environmental Sustainability Center of Excellence (CoE) within Global Safety & Environment (GSE).
This position is responsible for helping to coordinate and complete internal and external environmental sustainability reporting, including both voluntary and mandatory reporting. The role will also help develop internal and external environmental sustainability communications strategies and programs regarding the company’s programs and performance.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Collaborates across the enterprise to complete mandatory environmental sustainability disclosures, including the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and emerging climate regulations.
Supports internal and voluntary external reporting and disclosures regarding the company’s environmental sustainability programs and performance via the company’s Impact Report, CDP Reports, and other country-specific reports. Supports internal reporting of progress versus metrics through scorecards.
Develop and implement effective communication strategies related to environmental sustainability initiatives through various channels to keep company updated, focus attention on initiatives and priorities, etc.
Collaborates with stakeholders in various business units for joint communications.
Benchmarks reporting and communications practices with peer pharmaceutical companies, other industries, and non-governmental organizations to identify external trends with respect to environmental sustainability data reporting best practices.
Coordinate and participate in meetings, committees, and working groups to facilitate communication and collaboration on environmental sustainability matters.
Represents the company at external sustainability meetings and forums.
Recognizes and responds to evolving environmental sustainability trends, market conditions, regulatory requirements, etc. Evaluates and integrates the information to proactively identify actions needed to address any potential impacts on company reporting.
Participate and/or lead cross-functional projects as assigned. Complete all milestones and assigned action items by established deadlines.
Adhere to all financial commitments and processes.

Required Experience and Skills:
At least 3 years of environmental sustainability reporting and/or communications program implementation experience.
Knowledge of global sustainability trends.
Strong project management skills with a track record of successful cross-functional collaboration.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to simultaneously balance and adjust to multiple changing priorities and make decisions with speed and accuracy.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Knowledge of, and experience with sustainability reporting frameworks and regulations such as GRI, CDP, UN SDGs, and CSRD.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected US salary range:
$101,100.00 - $159,100.00
