Job Description:
Pay: $28-30/hr
We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable Bilingual Spanish - High School Living Environment (Biology) Tutor to join our team to provide in-person tutoring services to a Staten Island high school starting this fall. The ideal candidate will work closely with high school students to reinforce their understanding of biology concepts and help them prepare for the Living Environment Regents exam. Being bilingual in Spanish is a crucial asset that will allow us to better support our diverse student population.
Compensation and Schedule:
- Target launch date of October 16, 2024 running through May 2025
- Schedule of 2 five-hour days each week
- Pay range from $28-$30 per hour depending on prior tutoring experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group tutoring sessions in Living Environment (Biology) to students in grades 9-12.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, especially English Language Learners.
- Monitor and assess student progress, offering regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to foster student learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with school staff to establish a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

RequirementsQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing a degree) in Education, Biology, or a related field.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching high school biology or Living Environment.
- Familiarity with the New York State Living Environment Regents exam.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with high school students and adapt to their individual learning needs.
