What You Will Do: As an Environmental Scientist Professional
- Proficient at technical writing including the preparation of Phase I/II ESAs, Limited Site Investigations, Response Action Plans, Remedial Investigations, etc.
- High percentage of work will consist of due diligence environmental review (Phase I and Phase II ESAs) and environmental investigation/remediation for public and private entities.
- Provide field oversight of environmental investigation and remediation (EIR) projects that may account for 20% to 50% of your time conducting field work; dependent on season
- Supporting the preparation of other technical reports and the development of proposals and budgets.
- Most projects are in Minnesota. Some overnight travel possible.
- Work will include large scale monitoring projects, private well sampling, and brownfield redevelopments.
- Familiar with petroleum, non-petroleum, and PFAS investigations as well as remedial actions for Superfund sites, vapor intrusion mitigation, and petroleum cleanup work following MPCA guidance.
- Supporting MPCA/MDA Voluntary Investigation and Cleanup projects.
- Provide construction oversight during Response Action Plan implementation.
- Collect, tabulate, and evaluate environmental data.
- Coordinate with a team. Assist in identifying strategic pursuits for future business development.
- Supporting grant funding applications for brownfield investigation and cleanup.
What You Will Bring: The successful candidate will bring
- A bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, chemistry, biology, natural resources, soil science or comparable field from an accredited school. A master’s degree in a related field is a plus.
- 3 to 8+ years of experience in environmental investigation, remediation, brownfields redevelopment and technical writing.
- 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
- Experience with MPCA, MDA, MDH and/or MnDOT EIR type work is a benefit. Experience outside of Minnesota is a plus.
- Experience with performing large-scale corridor Phase I and Phase II ESAs for transportation and roadway improvements projects.
- Experience with EIR field testing/screening equipment typical of construction oversight and groundwater monitoring projects (e.g., PID, YSI, peristaltic pump, sub-slab vapor pin installation).
- Experience with GIS, gINT, and EDGE/EQuIS software is a plus.
- Asbestos and Lead Inspection credentials for MN or other states a plus.
- Safety orientated, organized, with a growth and collaborative mindset.
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
