Responsible for leading and managing Responsible Business activities, teams, and client service delivery within the Consult engine in a global market and/or sector.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Being accountable for service excellence, delivering purpose-led and measurable outcomes for clients, with particular focus on climate change, social value, and biodiversity.
- Being responsible for the delivery of commercial revenue targets aligned to the annual business plan, requiring the translation of business plan objectives into deliverable strategies, leading to profitable and sustainable business for Mace in this sector.
- Being accountable for work winning and bid/no-bid decision making (in collaboration with relevant stakeholders), including maintaining awareness of strategic client pipelines and RFPs.
- Understanding client drivers and what good looks like in the sector, collaborating with other responsible business sector leads and service offer leads to bring service offers to new and existing clients.
- Providing leadership and strategic direction to the sector, including developing an integrated service offer to support the Mace project management, cost & commercial management, programme management, and business advisory (centres of excellence) service offers.
- Reporting responsible business bids using the practice group business development tracker and Mace Infomace prospects system and keeping this up to date to reflect any changes.
- Forming and maintaining strong, senior working relationships at the highest levels in client organisations as well as across Mace, the responsible business practice group, and our partners, while managing the priorities of the sector and practice group.
- Representing the company and clients in a public forum, attending internal and external events to represent and raise the profile of Mace and the practice group.
- Ensuring projects are suitably resourced with the necessary competencies, alongside forward planning and proactive recruitment to support sector pipeline and growth.
- Championing the sector’s contribution to the delivery of the business strategy priorities and corporate targets, in particular, awareness of the carbon metrics of sector projects, while driving an increase in the sector’s carbon handprint (like project level carbon savings).
- Sharing knowledge and insights from the sector, including project case studies and thought leadership.
- Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll need to have\:
- Knowledge, understanding and expertise across the fields of environmental and social sustainability.
- Project and/or programme management experience.
- Business development/work-winning experience.
- Financial management and reporting experience.
- Line management and team leadership experience.
- Expertise in relevant industry, sector, region, etc.
- Ability to engage with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Ability to engage with multiple teams in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to present technical topics in a simple way to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to positively influence others to achieve PASW, BNG, V2S ambitions.
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification (Post Graduate Degree, Etc) (or equivalent).
You’ll also have:
- Suitable professional membership/s (i.e. IEMA, ICRS, CIEMA, ICE, RICS) (or equivalent).
- Masters (or equivalent) .
- NZC, Scope 1-3 emissionsTCFD /TNFD.
- Setting a scope, objectives, target's / Industry Benchmarks LETI, RICS.
- Building performance standards - Part L & Future.
- Standards – EN15978, ISO 14026 Standards PAS 2080 (50, 60, 35).
- Frameworks ie UKGBC, SBT, TPI.
- TM 54 and how to use them.
- Embodied carbon and how to drive reductions - LCA - One click.
- Electrification – heating and cooling demand /supply.
- Governance & Risk (PMO).
- Interaction at different levels (executive vs project managemennt/(design team vs supply chain).
- Building sustainability into contracts & procurement.
- Building sustainability into the design process.
- Biodiversity, Nature Based Solutions, Green Infrastructure.
- Social value and quantification methodologies ie TOMS, V2S, SV Portal
- Sustainability Certification (BREEAM, LEED, WELL, etc).
