Environmental Engineer – Multiple Disciplines

The Position
Ashworth Leininger Group (ALG) seeks motivated and talented individuals for the position of Environmental Engineer. ALG offers a dynamic and challenging consulting environment, where we provide resourceful and clever solutions to our clients’ complex environmental engineering and environmental compliance challenges. The successful candidate will have demonstrated technical expertise with at least two years of full-time work experience in a related professional role in any of the following disciplines:
Air Quality: Review, interpretation, and application of local, state, and federal air regulations as they apply to industrial and commercial operations; preparation of emissions inventories for GHG, air toxics, and criteria pollutants emitted from stationary, portable and mobile sources; air permitting under new source review and Title V operating permit programs; design of air compliance strategies to achieve our clients’ business objectives; other focus areas related to the field of air quality.
Accredited GHG Verifier: Accredited verifiers and lead verifiers in one or more of the following programs:
- California Mandatory Reporting Regulation (MRR) and/or Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS)
- Oregon Greenhouse Gas (GHG) and/or Clean Fuels programs
- Washington GHG program
- Experience in the U.S. EPA Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) program and/or International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) programs is not required but is desired.
Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Materials: Permitting and compliance for commercial, industrial and municipal facilities with respect to hazardous materials reporting and hazardous waste operations; development of hazardous materials inventories to assist with Tier II, EPCRA and TSCA reporting; expertise with hazardous waste generator requirements; experience with EPA ID applications and renewals; preparation of biennial reporting for large quantity generators; and other focus areas related to the field of hazardous waste compliance.
Sustainability and Lifecycle Expertise: Development of carbon and lifecycle emissions inventories for commercial products and industrial operations, proficiency using the Argonne National Laboratory’s Greenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy use in Transportation (GREET) lifecycle models, familiarity and experience reporting or verifying sustainability data reported using various reporting frameworks under the ISSB (e.g., SASB).
Water Quality: NPDES permitting and compliance for industrial facilities; involvement in rule development of the Commercial, Institutional, and Industrial (CII) permit; industrial wastewater operations subject to EPA’s pretreatment regulations; implementation of pretreatment programs by public agencies; experience in implementation of the industrial general storm water permit and certification as a Qualified Industrial Storm Water Practitioner (QISP); other focus areas related to the field of water quality.
ALG is seeking energetic, talented, and driven professionals with excellent communications skills and a strong understanding of scientific and/or engineering principles to support our growing environmental consulting practice. This is a client-focused position; candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding of engineering principles, strong written and verbal communication skills, and resourceful decision making. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to work independently to research and propose solutions to complex technical and regulatory challenges, and engage efficiently with colleagues and clients. All ALG staff are expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, which can be leveraged to expand our practice. Experience with database programs including Microsoft Excel is desired. Travel is required, which varies based on client and regulatory requirements. US work authorization is required.

The Details
- Locations: Spring, TX
- Minimum Education: BS in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Candidates with a Masters are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum Experience: Two years with direct experience in one of the environmental fields described above.
- Compensation: Comprehensive compensation package, including health insurance, profit sharing, performance bonuses, and competitive salaries. Annual salary of $75,000-$160,000 based on experience.
