Job Description: Environmental Remediation Engineer
Our client is seeking to add an Environmental Remediation Engineer to their Memphis, Tennessee office.
Relocation assistance is available to the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or assist in engineering and design efforts for various environmental remediation projects.
- Typical projects include vapor intrusion assessment, mitigation, and response; in situ/ex-situ groundwater remediation design and implementation; soil remediation system design and implementation; and remediation system operation, maintenance, and optimization.
- Participate in projects that range from small, local dry cleaners to large, complex industrial facilities and major federal sites.
- Collaborate with technical teams across multiple offices nationwide, problem-solving, preparing plans and specifications, and engaging with clients and subcontractors.
- Support marketing and sales efforts, the project manager, and client involvement where appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- PE certification preferred.
- Previous experience with vapor intrusion/mitigation, groundwater and soil remediation, and remediation operation and maintenance (O&M).
- Familiarity with detailed design and specification preparation is a major plus.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand and power tools are preferred.
- Valid driver’s license to operate a vehicle in the U.S. is required.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Regional travel is likely.
