How You’ll Make this Internship Opportunity Your Own
GDIT is seeking a talentedEnvironmental Scientist Associate Intern who is passionate about the environment. This individual must be motivated to deliver high quality work that directly impacts some of GDIT’s most complex government projects across the country.
A Day in the Life
Provides technical, scientific, quality assurance, data management, and logistical support to GLNPO’s programs including environmental monitoring, quality assurance, and sediment surveillance programs.
Duties include:
Technical support to various data management projects and environmental monitoring programs
Quality documentation development and review
Technical document development and review
Support to multiple project leads, including various technical, quality assurance, and administrative activities (e.g., assembling fish collection sampling kits, organizing and reviewing data in MS Excel, reviewing standard operating procedures)
Data review, analysis, and management

The Must-Haves
Candidate for a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field
College level course experience in environmental studies, chemistry, biology, ecology or related fields
Demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
Able to work independently and within a team environment
Functional knowledge of MS Office suite, in particular MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Access
What Will Make You a Stand-Out Candidate
Experience with environmental monitoring data collection, quality assurance, review, analysis, and management
Strong technical writing capabilities, scientific and/or business writing experience preferred
Previous volunteer, internship, or job experience in an environmental science-related field (laboratory of field work) is a plus·

The likely salary range for this position is $43,888 - $29,900. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
