Job Title: Environmental/ Energy Manager
Department: Base Operations and Maintenance
Job Summary:
The Environmental Energy Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to minimize environmental impact, optimize energy efficiency, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in environmental management, energy conservation, and sustainability practices, coupled with excellent leadership and communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop workload schedules
- Develop training and awareness programs on ground maintenance and best practices
- Ensure all federal, state, and local statuary requirements are followed
- Ensuring that business goals, deadlines, and performance standards are met in accordance with the job site requirements
- Assisting with the hiring, interviewing, and training processes
- Writing forecasts or predictions for a team productivity
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement environmental management and sustainability strategies to minimize the organization's environmental footprint and promote sustainable practices
- Calculates/determines energy efficiency and savings, develops energy efficiency program strategies, and makes recommendations to the staff and leadership by evaluating energy audit and inspection information
- Obtains essential information pertaining to energy efficiency on facilities by conducting energy audits, inspections, and studies
- Provide monthly and annual electric, gas, and water utility reports for Facilities staff, track utility budgets, and track the Energy Utilization index (EUI) for the facility.
- Manages energy tracking, performs statistical analysis for strategic planning and forecasting, establishes utility benchmarks, and outlines cost savings targets and objectives
- Identify and assess environmental risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation plans and strategies accordingly
- Analyze and provide technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, controls, water, wastewater, irrigation, building envelope, and lighting systems, to recommend improvement measures for equipment and components to minimize utility costs
- Identifies opportunities for energy efficiency improvements in existing facilities and develops implementing projects by applying knowledge of energy engineering principles and building systems
- Promotes and creates awareness of energy efficiency and conservation programs and initiatives by preparing and delivering presentations and marketing energy efficiency programs
- Assure inclusion of energy efficiency means, methods, and materials in capital projects and assists contractors as required to resolve design and construction progress issues associated with energy efficiency by actively participating in capital project design and construction status reviews
- Identifiy new and proven energy-saving technology that has a cost-benefit
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements
- Possess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents in English
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

- Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry
- Proficient Microsoft Office productivity suite
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of related experience required
- Certification preferred in one or more of the following
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP)
- Sustainability Professional Certification (ISSP-SA)
- Environmental Management Systems (EMS)

- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Certification
- Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC)
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Prolonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with hands
- Occasional periods of prolonged exposure to loud noises
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Ability to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands as necessary
- Ability to hear and see to position and safety requirement levels
- Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals
Special Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be able to successfully complete a background investigation as required by federal, state, or local government
- Must have a valid state driver's license
