Examples of Work
First-level engineering position accountable for routine professional and technical environmental engineering work involving the implementation of federal, regional and statewide programs for the control of drinking water, air and water pollution, hazardous waste, solid waste, or other environmental activities. Work at this level involves contact with federal, state, county and municipal officials, consulting engineers, industrial officials, developers, water and sanitary system operators, and the general public. The work is performed under close supervision from a licensed environmental engineer of a higher classification.
Minimum Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in engineering, preferably with courses in environmental engineering and possession of a certificate of registration as an Engineer in Training from the Mississippi State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
