Purpose of the position:

The role is located in Jakarta, with frequent travels to the Weda Bay Site.
The Sustainability Manager will develop and lead a team working on sustainability issues that are at the top of the agenda for both the public and private sectors, as well as society as a whole. This role will support internal clients with key strategic sustainability initiatives, ESG policy advisory services, and by integrating ESG into operations. The aim of this role is to make a meaningful impact on the environment and society, by designing and implementing solutions to global issues such as climate change and social inclusion, and by helping company to manage its transitions to ensure a more sustainable world.
Ensuring that every activity of Eramet Indonesia will be developed in the respect of the ESG standard of the group:
The Sustainability Manager will provide input and drive implementation of Eramet sustainability strategy and programs. In this role, he/she will work in the mining and plant business, working with corporate team members with a goal of delivering practical sustainability solutions that enable Eramet business to grow. The role will hold specific responsibility for compliance and grievance management in our Indonesia projects, plus regional and global responsibilities in selected strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Follow up of the evolution of Indonesia regulations and international standard in relations to his/her scope of work
- Lead the implementation of sustainability strategies,policies and important ESG documentations aligning with the local and international requirements.
- Develop and run systems to make reporting and information sharing more efficient, accurate and impactful.
- Liaise with key stakeholders partners in our sustainability effort, including selecting and managing community investment partners to align with business goal.
- Work with cross-functional Group leaders and committees, and external sustainability consultant(s) to analyse sustainability performance, develop and achieve key performance indicators.
- Facilitate Sustainability Training, audits, inspections, and compliance reporting, and provide post review recommendations and action plans
- Ensure all departments within Eramet Indonesia in line with Eramet Sustainability standard in particular Procurement Department (to ensure list of potential vendors who align with responsible sourcing principles, as well as providers of sustainability-related services)
- Manage the development of sustainability communications internally and externally
- Create continual educational resources on sustainability issues
- Institutionalise sustainability through documentation and regular review of policies with Group
- Regularly conducting a benchmark survey of industry new practice to develop or to improve sustainable production
- Drive the execution of project plans, working directly with partners, consultants and internal stakeholders to build engagement and trust with the business
- Partner with the Public Affairs and Communications teams to promote our value and commitment to Sustainability across the Group and stakeholders.
About you :
- A minimum of 15 years’ professional experience in an ESG/sustainability-related role
- An excellent understanding of global ESG agendas, policies standards (in particular Equator principles and IFC Sustainability Performance Standards; and IRMA standard)
- A good understanding of both the strategic and operational issues relating to ESG
- Experience with ESG due diligence and surveillance process in the frame of Equator Principles project financing.
- Experience in sustainable/green finance will be an asset (e.g. structuring green bonds)
- Sharp analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent management skill
- Mulicultural working experience
- Proficiency in English is a must
- Master's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in the development of processes as it relates to sustainability
- Experience with project or program management, particularly with NGO
