Responsibilities
- Provide supervision and leadership to the Safety Health and Environment (SHE) team.
- Oversee the daily operations of safety programs and initiatives.
- Facilitate training and development programs.
- Manage payroll, administer employee corrective actions, and perform all administrative tasks related to the Fire and Safety Team.
- Coordinate and conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate the initial response to Safety Health and Environment incidents, accidents, and emergencies.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure corrective measures and training are implemented and documented.
- Contribute to the document control management system.
- Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure that identified hazards are addressed and brought into compliance (i.e. Lockout tagout, fall protection, forklift and crane safety, etc.) .
- Maintain accurate records for safety-related activities, including inspections, incidents, and training.
- Stay abreast of safety regulations and standards, ensuring that policies are updated accordingly.
- Implement emergency preparedness and response plans, and collaborate with department leaders on improvements.
- Facilitate incident investigations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant safety certification (OSHA 30 or higher, forklift trainer, crane trainer, etc.).
- Experience in safety supervision within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in manufacturing.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
