Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development
that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.
Reporting to the Environment and Community Superintendent, the successful candidate will be a strong leader,
with experience implementing environmental field programs, while assisting with regulatory compliance and
community consultation.
The focus of this role will include:
• Supports the development of project specific documents including environmental management
plans, and the implementation of environmental monitoring programs
• Perform environmental audits on internal policies, construction activities and mine operations to
verify compliance with project processes and regulatory requirements, and identify opportunities
for improvement
• Develop and implement appropriate environmental mitigation measures as required
• Generate reports and record keeping adhering to regulatory compliance and community
consultation
• Plan and oversee various aspects of water management including, surface and ground water
management. Knowledge of water treatment would be an asset
• Maintains a full understanding of the environmental requirements, including necessary permits and
authorizations, Best Management Practices and the requirements contained within project permits
and documents.
• Operate safely and promote a safe work environment
Skills and Experience:
• Science based education/training with a minimum of three years relevant work experience (ie;
resource industry, environmental consulting, field studies)
• Extensive knowledge of environmental legislation, provincial acts, and regulations and experience
generating annual reports to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
• Environmental Monitoring related to the following; water sampling, wildlife monitoring, construction,
water treatment, noise and air quality monitoring.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required including verbal and written
communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives
• Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of data
management programs such as EQWIN would be an asset.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to work well with others and adapt to
changing workplace environments
• Valid Class G driver’s license
• Experience working in the field in all weather conditions. Comfortable safely operating boats, UTV’s
and snowmobiles.
• A strong leader with experience supervising field programs and field staff

Physical requirements:
Handling heavy loads, physically demanding, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, standing for extended periods of time.
Bending, crouching, and kneeling.
