DescriptionObjectives and Purpose of the Job:
The Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, monitoring workplace environments, and developing safety programs to promote a culture of safety across the organization.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain SHE policies and procedures to ensure adherence to local and international health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate and deliver SHE training programs for all employees to enhance safety awareness and knowledge.
- Prepare reports and presentations on SHE performance, including accident and incident reports, and recommend improvements as needed.
- Lead investigations into accidents and near misses, ensuring that corrective actions are taken and documented appropriately.
- Serve as a point of contact for SHE-related inquiries and provide guidance on best practices.
- Monitor and manage the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with management and employees to enhance safety measures and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation and changes in the SHE field, and advise management accordingly.
- Assist in developing emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
RequirementsAcademic/Technical/Management: Experience and Qualifications:
- Tertiary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in health and safety management within a manufacturing or related environment.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH or equivalent) is preferred.
