About the role
Our Sustainability Analyst role combines strong analytical capabilities, sustainability expertise, and excellent people skills to support our customers throughout their sustainability journey. You’ll play a vital role in managing sustainability data, and shaping our product roadmap through customer feedback.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the calculation process for calculating our customer’s GHG Emissions, ensuring precision and consistency in emissions factor selection and emissions.
- Lead the presentation of complex findings from emissions calculations, making them easy for customers to understand, providing them with valuable insights and sharing these internally when necessary.
- Present complex findings from emissions calculations, delivering detailed analytics and creating dashboards that drive customer insights, including support for regulatory frameworks.
- Drives team and product improvements by providing feedback on processes, developing internal training, and collaborating with the product team to optimise calculation features.
- Be a core member of the Sustainability Analytics team, contributing to the team knowledge base, offering guidance on emissions factor selection, and helping team members on resolving queries using internal tools.
Who we're looking for:
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for sustainability, a keen eye for detail, and a strong data-driven mindset. This is an early career role suitable for someone with 2-3 years professional experience in sustainability.
About you:
We believe the successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills:
Technical expertise
- Have a relevant degree or experience relating to sustainability, as well as a basic understanding of how to calculate Greenhouse gas emissions (scope 1, 2 and 3) aligned to the GHG Protocol/ISO Standards.
- Have a good understanding and passion for wider sustainability concepts and developments in the sector.
- Proficiency in using market standard tools for data analysis (e.g., Metabase, MS Excel, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar).
- Confident with large dataset, able to analyse data, spot trends, with the ability to speak eloquently about sources of emissions, emissions calculations, and data quality.
- Candidates must have excellent written and spoken English skills, as the primary language of communication within the company is English.
Relationship building
- Good communication skills with the ability to concisely summarise and condense complex sustainability topics and build trust-based relationships.
- Process-driven, able to follow and refine clear processes with minimal supervision.
- Strong process and time management skills, able to manage multiple tasks across multiple customers.
Entrepreneurial spirit
- A natural "go getter", keen to identify opportunities and trial solutions to improve our customers' experiences.
- Ability to learn fast and on-the go, working in the often unstructured environment of a fast growing startup.
- A willing problem-solver, highly adaptable to client needs, with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
- A keen learner with the ability to adapt to new ways of working, and an interest to work in the tech sector, and desire to grow your sustainability knowledge through working with a wider team of experts
