The role
As a Senior Safety, Health & Environmental Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be supporting the Marine Support Value Stream at delivery locations in both the UK and on a global basis to enable the business to safely deliver projects to our customers and driving the strategy towards zero harm.
Day to day, you’ll will be involved in the full life cycle of our projects – from bidding to and beyond delivery. You will have a critical part in the development of the SHE strategy and its’ implementation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Definition, implementation, management and continuous improvement of controls and process across the whole of the Support Value Stream business to drive high performance.
- Supporting bidding activity, infrastructure projects and delivery of outputs.
- Ensuring, as a minimum, that all our operational activities are in full compliance with current and future health and safety legislation, company policy/procedures, government targets and accredited or certified standards.
- Safeguarding employees, contractors and all others who may be affected by company acts or omissions as a result of the company’s operational activity, additionally providing protection from reputational damage as a result of litigation and/or other regulatory enforcement measures.
- Providing professional expertise and support in respect of Safety, Health and Environmental management and protection issues, and where applicable, recommendations are made as to the adoption of ‘best practice’ methodology based on industry standards, approved codes of practice and learning from experience.
- Define and drive the SHE strategy of the Support Value stream.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Safety, Health & Environmental Manager
- Substantial relevant EH&S experience in a hazardous industry (E.G. Construction Industry, Oil and Gas, Heavy Manufacture)
- A proven history of effective leadership and management
- Demonstrable passion for SHE, which they can evidence at interview
- Ability to manipulate data and confidentiality present data insights and trends to suggest strategy innovation, solutions and new actions
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate to a wide variety of stakeholders across all levels
Qualifications for the Senior Safety, Health & Environmental Manager
- Occupational H&S Level 6 NVQ (Essential)
