The Role:
The Director Americas - Sustainable Finance is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work in a fast-paced commercial environment in supporting capital markets, principally debt capital markets, securitized desk, and sustainable finance teams, in the use of our opinions services in their products offered to clients.
The mandate of the role will be to manage and grow relationships with capital markets teams involved with sustainable financing activity. Success will be measured by the increase in sales of Sustainalytics sustainable finance solutions via those clients whom you assist.
Responsibilities:
- Support underwriters to offer sustainable financing transactions using Sustainalytics opinions.
- Support underwriters to advise their clients and understanding and interpreting our Taxonomy.
- Support intermediaries to advise their clients on new opportunities for sustainable themes.
- Support and manage the commercial team responsible for providing our opinions services.
- Support Commercialization Managers to integrate new developments into offerings.
- Become an expert in the Sustainalytics Taxonomy space.
- Understand and be familiar with Sustainable Bond Principles (ICMA) including guidelines for new instruments such as ABS, REPO, Loans etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is desirable.
- Must have Advanced Business English oral and writing skills, as the Company’s working language is English.
- Competency in French,Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, German highly desired. Other language skills would be useful.
- Client facing and commercially minded, able to respond quickly to customers in a sales environment.
- Experience in financials, ESG/sustainability research with experience in modelling preferred.
- Needs to have advanced Excel skills, including ability to use VBA, or macros and data sources.
- Recognized Financial Qualifications, strong understanding of the underlying financial products leveraging our ratings (important as this will soon expand beyond loans).
Base Salary Range: $100,000 to $150,000
Commission Target: 66% of base salary
